THE NON-SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY PENSION WITH AID AND ATTENDANCE

The Veterans Administration’s Aid and Attendance Pension was established to assist qualified veterans and their un-remarried surviving spouses with a tax free pension to help defray the cost of long-term care; assisted living, home care or skilled nursing care.

This benefit was established in 1952 under Title 38 of the U.S. Code. In 2015 this program was funded by Congress in excess of $4.7 billion.

What Does This Mean To You?

You choose where to receive care and with this pension in hand, you are able to afford the care you need.

Like Social Security, this pension is paid monthly and directly to you by the U.S. Department of Treasury.  You never have to pay it back, it is completely tax free and it can increase annually based on the cost of living.
